You should realize that a first impression is always remembered. Better watch everything you will say and do. Things will come back to haunt you.

- It is advisable to learn the names of each and every member of your team. And if you are in a situation where you always forget the name, the very best solution is merely to apologize and ask its name again. You can also try some memory tricks so that you can remember their name easily.
- As much as possible, ask questions. If you are uncertain of some things, better ask rather than taking some possible risk and waste your time. Since this is your first day, you are not probably aware of everything in the company and nobody in the company will know that you can resolve a particular problem without asking. It is advisable to communicate well with your colleague because it will keep you away from trouble or even land you to unemployment position.
- Show your appreciation to everyone who help you learn the ropes during your first days at work – from your co-workers to receptionists to your boss.
